Letter to john

Dear John

What have you done? Stirring a hornet’s nest just to sell your book? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Look’s like we’ll have to name you Little John now, in spite of that 6’3 frame.

Why take a swipe at Gavaskar? When you know a particular person is revered by a billion people, there has to be a reason for it. He heads the technical committee not because he can sell salted peanuts on a roadside but because he can bat better than Geoffrey Boycott’s ‘grandmum’. Come to think of it, his Test average of 51.12 and a First-Class average of 51.46 are a teeny-weeny bit more than your handsome 12.30 in first class cricket. And to quote Navjot Singh Sidhu, “statistics are like miniskirts, they reveal more than what they hide.”

Now that I’ve boosted (or busted) my own argument with a brilliant sidhuism, let’s get after your case in some other, less creative way. You see John, me and a half-a-million Knight Riders fans were not too happy with your coaching. If you would have traveled by train in India (yeah right), you would know what we are talking about when we refer to you as a sleeper coach. But last I checked, you were sacked from KKR. Oh no! Where’s the money going to come from now? Simple. Write a book. Badmouth any cricketer, whether he’s played under you or not and make some eeeeeeeeasy money. As smooth as a baby’s bottom.

You said Sunil Gavaskar is “blinkered by bias and tradition”. Of course he is. His bias is against foul-mouthed cricketers who can dish it out but can’t take it. Sunil Gavaskar speaks his mind and doesn’t back down. Apparently, this is something which people from the subcontinent are not allowed to do. I guess we don’t meet the height criterion?
You said “Australians are direct and expect people to be direct back to them…”. So what do you think Gavaskar does…spit jellybeans with fake smileys painted on them? Your digs at the Little Master are not that hard to understand. Sunny has always had the Aussies hot under the collar with his approach on sledging. So, it looks like the Aussies are going to give it back, turn by turn, quote by quote and they are all busy Ponting, oops I mean pointing fingers.

What's really got a lot of people riled are your comments against Sachin Tendulkar. To imply that Sachin is neither 'fearless' nor 'inventive' takes a lot of courage. You are a very brave man John. Sadly, words fail me in thinking up adjectives to describe your cricketing acumen. In fact, your description of Sachin forces me to think that perhaps you don't have any.

I heard you’re also targeting Harbhajan Singh. Bad idea John. Don’t believe me? Ask Sreesanth. Anyway, here’s how the Turbanator responded to the diatribe from Down Under on his own blog: “The great coach indeed had some great comments to make, just like his great coaching methods…this is not the first time an Australian has showered his praise on me and am pretty certain he won’t be the last one either.” Uh oh! You have him riled. Now would be a good time to get some ‘slap insurance’ John.

I also heard you’ve now joined the English camp. Gone from Ashes to Ashes, from first to dust? The Aussies must be feeling a lot better about their chances in the Ashes now. Like Shane Warne said, “Hopefully he will be doing his stuff and overcomplicating things.” C’mon Warney, we can’t be “blinkered by bias and tradition” now, can we?

I think I am getting a little carried away here. One shouldn’t be so uncharitable about such a great coach. I think we should incorporate some of your ideas in Indian politics. Any party facing bitter infighting can benefit from John’s multiple-captaincy idea. Just sack the current party leader, however capable he is, and put in charge five men on a rotation basis. Later, write a book about how good the sacked leader was. Genius!

I recently read Glenn McGrath’s book ‘Line and Strength’. One of the revelations was that John used poetry as a tool to get players to open up. Revolutionary coaching tactics! Next time England’s Stuart Broad bowls to Yuvraj Singh, he should head for his bowling run up while reciting, ‘Where the mind is without fear…’

Watch out Shruti Hassan

I think the most awaited debut for this year is none-other than Shruti Hassan daughter of Kamal Hassan . She'll be making her debut in Soham Shah's LUCK opposite Imran Khan.

Here's a small intro abt the multi Talented Girl

Shruti Rajalakshmi Hassan was born to actors Kamal Hassan and Sarika on January 28, 1986 in Chennai, India. She also has a younger sister named Akshara, who represents India nationally for Ballroom Latin dancing. Hassan studied at the Lady Andal in Chennai, until 10th grade, when she moved to Mumbai to read psychology at St Andrew’s College.

However, Hassan shifted her focus to cinema and music, and eventually travelled to the USA to continue to learn music at the Musicians Institute in California, before returning to Chennai.

IIfa controversy

Hrithik Roshan won IIfa award for best actor 2008 for the movie Jodha Akbar. However, Aamir Khan’s fans are disappointed by jury’s decission. There was debate going on between Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan’s fans about who will win the award this year. But jury’s decission to pick up Hrithik Roshan has surprised many. I think that Hrithik deserved the award for his role as Akbar the great in Jodha Akbar, but even I am surprised. I didn’t thought that the judges will ignore the popular opinion and would instead pick up the better actor.

Aamir Khan’s performance in Ghajini is been lauded by critics and masses alike. I personally don’t think that it was an out standing performance. It was good but not amazingly well done. In fact when I saw Ghajini I was kind of surprised that how stereo typical Aamir acted in the movie. The stories of revenge, obsessive lovers and violence are nothing new to viewers. We have seen such roles before and even though Aamir peformed extremely good in his role still it was a story told many times before. Some people are also blaming Aamir’s attitude towards awards specially Filmfare. He once even sued Filmfare for using pictures for award ceremony promotions.

Shahrukh Khan’s Rab ne Bana di Jodi was a light romantic movie. King Khan surely knows how to charm the audiences but it was not the kind of role that people will never forget. It was good but not one of his best performances. He has previously acted much better than that for example in Paheli, Swades, Don, etc.

On the other hand Hrithik was playing a real person from the pages of history, Akbar The Great. This historic love epic provided him a great room and a much bigger canvas to perform. He had to work on his Urdu, to carry on the costumes, to be as impressive as people could imagine that Akbar was. It was a story that was never told before. Critics and masses were comparing his performance with that of Prithvi Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar in Mughal-e-Azam. He comes with his own memorable performance. From walking to sitting, from dialogue delivery to war scenes, he had to perform extremely great in every scene. I think he did justice to his character.

Akshay vs Hrithik vs Shahrukh Khan

Akshay Kumar,a married man, is a very hard working guy, who entertain us more then anyone even close to him. He has always accepted and taken all kinds of work, and the previous year was the one that lifted him from the star to the superstar. In 2007, he had more movies, and more hits then any superstar including King Khan, and Hrithik Roshan. Unlike Sharukh Khan, Akshay is much closer to its fans, due to his visits in advertising some of the biggest and most entertaining movie ever on Television such as, Heyy Babyy, Phir Hera Pheri, and recently came out Welcome. Akshay has always been critisized and always has been seen as the baby of the premier Khans. Salman, Aamir, and especially Shah Rukh Khan has always been loved, made more money, had more fame, and name globally then Akshay Kumar. But Akshay never let down and kept his composure as high as possible which has enabled him to achieve the image he is very well deserving of now. His hardwork is the luckiest thing he has, Hrithik's marriage, Sharukh's never ending vacations, Sulman's legal issues, and Amir's desire to do everything by himself has lead Akshay to easily find jobs, and the more jobs he got the more hits he made, as Fans could not wait any longer to see their biggest stars, and this all and much more are the biggest components that has been aside him toward superstar goal. In 2008 his year was a mixed bag inckuding super hit like Singh is King and flop like Tashan. But the question remains, Is He the biggest superstar.

Hrithik Roshan, a family man, he has rejected eleven movies since now just because he respects and loves his family and admires the hardwork of his dad, Rakesh Roshan. Hrithik Roshan, unlike Akshay, has never had to work as hard and never had to battle through other people's fame, in fact their was a time where people called him the " Legend Killer". He almost killed Sharukh Khan's glorious legend and fame by apperaring in just his first movie, taking away a whopping of a total of hundred and one awards for his movie " Kaho Na Pyaar Hai" compared to Mohabtein of Sharukh Khan. Many of Sharukh's Fans criticized Hrithik and his dad for doing something illegal to win so many awards for a new and unknown artist. But Hrithik as mature as always, declined to be on screen for the next two months, this left the fans making controversies, and kept them analyzing and thinking of the name Hrithik instead of Sharukh Khan, which eventually made many fans switch their bandwagons. After that Hrithik came in many hits, and every hit was making Bollywood as global as possible, due to so many fans of Hrithik outside of India and Pakistan. A girl once said,"whoever works with Hrithik is improved and has an established career ahead", her name was Kareena Kapoor. Hrithik then left for a long vacation after his marriage, leaving many fans hungry for more, which is one of the main reasons to Akshay and many young artists like Shahid Kapoor and Abishek Bachan's success. Hrithik comes back, and this time he comes like the super hero of India. His come back and his movie, "Krrish", made him the most popular bollywood superstar, it wouldn't be late when Shilpa Shetty would steal Hrithik's gloabal fame due to her win in Big Brother. Hrithik again left his fans after almost a whole year in his new and most recent movie called, " Jodhaa Akbar" with stunning Ashwariya Rai.his much awaited movie KITES has been sold to a record 110 million ,but The question remains, is he the biggest superstar in India.

And then their is Sharukh Khan Khan, the ultimate and supreme king, who has ruled Bollywood since the start of his career. He has been in every kind of movie and every role possible, from Don to Son to an awesome Romantic actor to thrillers to fear to imagination and to Don again. He has done it all, but many obstacles tried in preventing Shahrukh Khan's success. SRK didn't had the helf Sulman's family provided for him, he didn't had age with him, he didn't had a father helping him and spending money marvelously Like Hrithik Roshan. He has maintained and established him self from no one to a guy who gets paid about a crore per visit to a show.Sharukh Khan became popular because of his brilliant performance of playing a villian's role in his first movie, he soon got many offers which he accepted and was becoming another big celebrity with Sulman and Amir Khan. After "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "DDLJ" his fan polling and his status, his demand for movies, his demand for visits, his charity programs, his posters, and his movies, all went a much much higher level. He worked in many more movies with the Chopras and the Yash Raj industries, because of Sharukh's fame, Yash Raj established his industry called, "Yash Raj Movies", he sold movies outside of India and Pakistan and this led to the whole Bollywood's success, because it enabled Yash Raj to make unique movies, present new graphics, and this all could not happen without the necessary money it requires, the money came mainly from SRK's movies. This helped the whole bollywood and soon competition increased and new directors made highlights with, Devdas and Black, Bollywood's success made businessman's come into this field of making and directing movies, such as, the Bhatt's. Then in the new century SRK's vacation, Hrithik's fame, and Akshay's rise all declined and made SRK's image a little shivvery and hesitant. He came out of that with Devdas, and in my opinion Devdas and Sanjay Leela Bansani saved SRK's career. Soon he started hosting some of the biggest shows and was seen in another great hit, called Kal Ho na Ho, then he did many movies with Rani Mukherjee and Preety Zinta, and after "DON" he has the urge to ask a whopping one crore for simply a visit to some show televised by TV Asia. His most recent success was "Om Shanti Om" in which he had the pleasure to work with nearly nienty stars, the movie was a huge success and yet again SRK made someone's carreer in Deepika Padukone. In my mind, because SRK has been through almost everyone, and has been critisized a lot, I think SRK is the ultimate champion and indefinately the biggest superstar and icon of India and Bollywood.

Abhishek vs. Hrithik - Altering successes!

The two superstars of today marked their debuts in the same year. One proved to become an overnight hit, while the other inspite of being a star super son failed miserably at the box-office. Hrithik became a huge star with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and poor Abhishek saw failure with Refugee(2000). Thus began the unspoken battle, not exactly between the two but it was to do with more of the audiences comparing them with each other.

It was the year 2000 when Hrithik set the silver screen on fire with his chocolate looks, macho body and rhythmic dance movements in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. It was an overnight success for Hrithik who was responsible for the 'Hrithikmania' that set in. What's more, he even received more than 3,500 raakhis by post during Raksha Bandhan that year! The groovy actor striked a hat trick with Mission Kashmir (2000) and Fiza (2000). Thus Hrithik was overfilled with success, his recent one beingJodhaAkbar(2008) andLuck By Chance (2009). Though films likeMujhse Dosti Karoge (2002) and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003) did not do well at the box office, Hrithik was still one of the most sort after heroes though his popularity by then had decreased to a great deal.

Abhishek still had not even made his presence felt. Failure came one after another with films bombing at the box office - Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Tera Jadu Chal Gaya (2000), Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai(2001), Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost (2003) and Kuch Naa Kaho (2003) to name a few.

the scenario altered a little bit from 2004-2006 when Abhishek was the talk of the town. The entire populationwas swooning all over him. He has indeed proved himself with Yuva (2004), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Dhoom (2004),Sarkar(2006)and many other. Hrithik was busy preparing to become an overnight success once again with Krrish, Koi Mil Gaya sequel.

Then came year 2006 the year Krrish and Dhoom 2 released ! It changed the entire scenario once again! Krrish gave the Indian audiences there own desi Super-hero, while in dhoom 2 Hrithik roshan stealed the show from Abhishekh bachchan.

Junior bachchan tried his hard to beat hrithik in his next films but was miserably failed . Hrithik went many steps ahead of him with those two movies. He was now in the A-list of the Bollywood.

Abhishekh trying to beat him tried one more step of becoming a super hero Drona ,but the film proved to be RONA.

Then gave another superhit Jodhaakbar which surely made him miles ahead of junior bachchan.

Hrithik's next is KITES which has already made buzz in the international market while Abhishekh's next is "RAAVAN" directed by Mani ratnam so let's c who goes ahead !

MUSIC OF VISHESH MOVIES

yesterday i was listening to the song nazare karam from the movie Jashnn !
I felt that these Bhatts really are something ! imagine all their movies starting from GULAM to JASHNN..! having just mind blowing or rather I shuld say path breaking music !

Now if I compare the music of other camps with that of Vishesh; clearly they r the winners in this field ! Yashraj produces approximately 4-5 films a year with music of each of them doing just moderate business but if u compare this with the BHATTS they really rock . Half of their revenues are generated fromtheir music stations only .Their musics are no.1 in all charts be it radio or audio cassette market.

At the end i would just like to say that bhatts really work hard for their music and the outcome of that is infront of others and they bring best of their music directors !

GOOD GOING ! KEEP THIS CONTINUE !
