The two superstars of today marked their debuts in the same year. One proved to become an overnight hit, while the other inspite of being a star super son failed miserably at the box-office. Hrithik became a huge star with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and poor Abhishek saw failure with Refugee(2000). Thus began the unspoken battle, not exactly between the two but it was to do with more of the audiences comparing them with each other.
It was the year 2000 when Hrithik set the silver screen on fire with his chocolate looks, macho body and rhythmic dance movements in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. It was an overnight success for Hrithik who was responsible for the 'Hrithikmania' that set in. What's more, he even received more than 3,500 raakhis by post during Raksha Bandhan that year! The groovy actor striked a hat trick with Mission Kashmir (2000) and Fiza (2000). Thus Hrithik was overfilled with success, his recent one beingJodhaAkbar(2008) andLuck By Chance (2009). Though films likeMujhse Dosti Karoge (2002) and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003) did not do well at the box office, Hrithik was still one of the most sort after heroes though his popularity by then had decreased to a great deal.
Abhishek still had not even made his presence felt. Failure came one after another with films bombing at the box office - Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Tera Jadu Chal Gaya (2000), Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai(2001), Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost (2003) and Kuch Naa Kaho (2003) to name a few.
the scenario altered a little bit from 2004-2006 when Abhishek was the talk of the town. The entire populationwas swooning all over him. He has indeed proved himself with Yuva (2004), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Dhoom (2004),Sarkar(2006)and many other. Hrithik was busy preparing to become an overnight success once again with Krrish, Koi Mil Gaya sequel.
Then came year 2006 the year Krrish and Dhoom 2 released ! It changed the entire scenario once again! Krrish gave the Indian audiences there own desi Super-hero, while in dhoom 2 Hrithik roshan stealed the show from Abhishekh bachchan.
Junior bachchan tried his hard to beat hrithik in his next films but was miserably failed . Hrithik went many steps ahead of him with those two movies.He was now in the A-list of the Bollywood.
Abhishekh trying to beat him tried one more step of becoming a super hero Drona ,but the film proved to be RONA.
Then gave another superhit Jodhaakbar which surely made him miles ahead of junior bachchan.
Hrithik's next is KITES which has already made buzz in the international market while Abhishekh's next is "RAAVAN" directed by Mani ratnam so let's c who goes ahead !
